DART’s local, fixed-route service operates in 13 cities. DART Express service provides nonstop convenient, roundtrip service between downtown Dallas and five neighboring communities.

Be at your stop and prepared to board three to five minutes before your bus is due to arrive. Before boarding the bus, double-check the route number and name displayed above the driver’s windshield. If you’re not sure it’s the right bus, just ask the driver.

Exact cash or change or a DART pass are acceptable fares. The single-ride local fare is $2.50 (one-way trip, cash-only fare on buses only, no pass issued).

Allow other passengers to get off before boarding. Board through the front door of the bus. Riding the bus is easy; just follow these simple rules.

If you do not have a DART pass, you must insert the exact fare into the farebox as you board. Fareboxes accept $1 bills and/or coins, including $1 coins. If you already have a valid pass, swipe the pass through the farebox.

About one block from your stop, press one of the yellow plastic strips or the red buttons. This signals the operator that you want to get off at the next stop.Exit through the front or rear doors. The operator will open the front door.

Park and Rides, Transit Center, and Transfer Locations

Wherever you are going in North Texas, DART can help get you there. If your journey begins at DART rail station or transit center, free parking is available at most of these facilities. DART Transit Centers are hubs for the Bus System, and some are located adjacent to a DART Rail Station. Facilitating convenient transfers in a secure environment, Transit Centers offer ample shelter, restroom facilities and DART staff who can assist you on your journey.
