Special security measures being undertaken include:

1. Periodic checks of DART Rail and TRE vehicles
2. Sweeps of rail vehicles at the end of the lines
3. Increased police presence at high-volume rail stations during rush hours
4. Special announcements for passengers to check around their seats prior to departing trains and to report any unattended or suspicious items
5. Coordination of security efforts with city police departments within DART Service Area
6. Constant communication between police and bus/rail dispatchers regarding any suspicious persons or packages on DART vehicles or in passenger facilities
7. Transit Security Officers (TSOs) focus on DART Code of Conduct violations and any potential unlawful activities on DART property
8. TSOs help to deter misconduct and demonstrate DART's continued commitment to keeping our customers safe
