DART News Release
Media Relations Contact: August 26, 2013 New DART Police vehicle delivers a stand-up ride A trio of new three-wheelers will give DART Police officers the ability to stand and deliver. Better public safety, that is.
The vehicles, already used by other police forces and security agencies around the world, are built by T3 Motion in Costa Mesa, Calif. DART paid $38,000 for the three vehicles. They are scheduled to debut in September at rail stations and bus transit centers as well as at special events like the State Fair of Texas. With fewer parts than patrol cars and running on batteries, the T3 Patroller is quieter than a car or motorcycle. It can travel up to 25 miles on a single charge with a top speed of 20 mph. -- 30 -- |
