July 24, 2000 DART adding facilities, updating bus routes
New Bus Transfer Locations Open, Addison Trolley-Bus Service Grows, Monday July 31 Riding DART becomes more convenient for customers in Cockrell Hill and West Dallas with the opening of two new transfer locations on Monday, July 31. Also, two new trolley-bus routes will be added in Addison, and a number of minor bus schedule adjustments will take place on other routes.
Passenger Transfer Locations Open in Cockrell Hill, West Dallas Two new transfer locations will open in the southwestern portion of the DART service area. These air-conditioned facilities will feature restrooms, telephones, information kiosks, vending machines and a station agent on duty. The Cockrell Hill location will be located at Jefferson Boulevard and Cockrell Hill Road and will be served by Routes 50, 76, 404 and 444. The West Dallas location will be on the northeast corner of Bernal Drive and Singleton Boulevard and will be served by Routes 35 and 59.
Expanded Trolley-Bus Service In Addison Trolley-Bus Route 709 will connect Addison hotels with its restaurants along Belt Line Road as well as the Galleria and Valley View Mall, providing hourly service between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. Beginning at 6 p.m., Trolley-Bus Route 710 will augment the 709 service between the hotels and restaurants, operating every half hour until 12 midnight. Hotels to be served include Courtyard By Marriott, Country Inn Suites, Crowne Plaza, Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Homewood Suites, Motel 6, Ramada Limited, Sleep Inn, Hilton Garden Inn and Quality Suites.
Other Bus Service Improvements Coming Customers should refer to the bus service change brochure or new customer schedules dated July 31, 2000 for specific information about other route modifications.
