DART's State Fair Flyer whisks you and your family straight to the fun every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, from September 24 to October 17. Park free at any of eight conveniently located park and ride locations, and enjoy express bus service to and from the Starplex entrance at Fair Park in air-conditioned comfort. DART also provides shuttle bus service on Saturdays and Sundays from the Pearl Rail Station. Again this year, the Big Tex Express, featuring Trinity Railway Express commuter rail cars, brings fairgoers to the gate from the State Fair parking lots on Haskell and Fitzhugh on Saturdays and Sundays as well as Monday, Oct. 4, and Columbus Day, Oct. 11. DART's State Fair Flyer On Fridays and Mondays, State Fair Flyer buses leave park and ride lots hourly, from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., and from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with the last return trip from Fair Park at 12 midnight. On Saturdays and Sundays, buses leave park and ride lots every thirty minutes, from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Buses depart Fair Park hourly from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until midnight. From 14 new rail stations to modern shelters and bus transit centers -- we're bringing more services to more people through 2003. The Trinity Railway Express is scheduled to take off for Fort Worth late next year. And DART Rail lovers will be able to board at the new Cityplace Station in December 2000, at White Rock Station in fall 2001, in Richardson by summer 2002, Garland by fall 2002 and in Plano by summer 2003. The largest state fair in the country celebrates the dawn of a new century by "Going Global." The Royal Canadian Mounted Police, riding coal black horses and performing intricate drills to military marches, perform daily (except Wednesdays) without charge. Other great attractions include Taiko drummers, Peruvian pipers, Spanish flamenco dancers, Celtic fiddlers, African elephants and tropical butterflies. TXU's fabulous nightly laser show near the reflecting pool uses video images, fireworks and vibrant music.
