DART honored by the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
Media Relations Contact: March 5, 2007 DART honored by the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
Hispanic community leaders joined the GDHCC to present the transit agency with the Best Public Entity of the Year award at the chamber's 17th Annual Partners Appreciation Breakfast March 2. From 2000 through 2006, DART awarded more than $492 million in procurement dollars to minority- and women-owned enterprises - more than 30 percent of its total vendor activity. As DART moves forward with its rail expansion, the agency will continue to work closely with the chamber to assure Hispanic participation. The Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Unidos Award is the chamber's highest award and is presented annually to the organization that has distinguished itself among corporate and government partners of the Chamber for their involvement in the development of the Hispanic community during the 2006 fiscal year. -- 30 -- |
