November 14, 2002 Public Invited to Public Meetings
DART continues Major Investment Study in East Dallas County DART is holding two public meetings in November to update residents on the status of the East Corridor Major Investment Study (MIS). The MIS calls for community involvement in developing and evaluating alternative transportation improvement strategies.
The study area includes parts of Dallas, Garland, Mesquite, Rowlett and Sunnyvale in east Dallas County. At the meetings on Tuesday, November 19 and Wednesday, November 20, DART staff will provide a summary of the research done on travel forecasts, alternative developments and optional modes of transportation for the area.
Completion of the MIS, expected in early 2003, will result in the selection of a Locally Preferred Investment Strategy with specific recommendations for improving mobility in the corridor bounded by Ferguson Road/Santa Fe Railroad to the north, Scyene/Military Parkway to the south, Downtown Dallas roughly to the west and the Rockwall County line/SH 352 to the east.
