Effective February 5

A smoother bus ride for DART customers

On Monday, February 5, DART will adjust more than 30 bus routes and a number of schedules to provide better service and connections to new developments throughout the service area.

For detailed information, pick up your copy of the service change brochure on buses, at DART transit centers and at the downtown Dallas DART Store. Information is also available online at www.DART.org, in Spanish at www.transporteDART.org, or by calling DART at 214-979-1111.

Responding to growth
DART's Route 415 in South Oak Cliff is ready to meet the residential and commercial development growth demands that are expected to result from the new University of North Texas at Dallas campus. This route, which travels along Houston School Road, will provide students, faculty and staff connections to rail stations and popular destinations on weekdays and Saturdays. On Sundays, service to Southwest Center Mall and Ledbetter Station will also be available via Route 415.

DART is also adding new service via bus Route 342 to the emerging residential community of Rylie-Kleberg, just southeast of Pleasant Grove. Route 342 will originate at the Lake June Transit Center and replace the Teagarden extension on Route 42.

Downtown Dallas continues growing at a quick rate. New developments under way include the One Arts Plaza at Routh Street. Home to the new 7-Eleven Inc. headquarters, One Arts Plaza promises to be one of downtown's hot spots to live, work and play. Route 21 will be restructured to serve this new development, as well as Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (Arts Magnet); the nearby Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center; and other emerging world-class performance venues, such as the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre currently under construction.

For a faster ride with more options, additional bus service is scheduled for DART's northwest area. In Addison, Route 347 will now provide Saturday service in Addison, Dallas, and Plano, while Route 341 will provide more Sunday service to communities and shopping destinations such as the Wal-Mart at Frankford and Marsh Lane. Several routes in Farmers Branch and Carrollton will also be adjusted to make better transfers to other bus routes and connections to DART's On-Call service at the Farmers Branch Park & Ride location.

DART bus customers traveling to the Medical Center area in Northwest Dallas will soon get to their workplace or doctor's appointments quicker. Route 185 serving Harry Hines Boulevard, with connections to Parkland Hospital, UT Southwestern Medical Center and the entire Medical Center area, will now make fewer stops. Customers can save time and benefit from additional boarding locations in downtown Dallas from the CBD West Transfer Center. Look for bright-red, specially marked bus stop signs designating Route 185 boarding locations.
