Media Relations Contact: June 24, 2020 Dallas Streetcar Ride to Cost $1 Starting July 27 Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) will begin charging a Dallas Streetcar fare of $1 per ride beginning Monday, July 27. High resolution JPG (opens in a new window) The $1 one-way fare is included with any valid DART pass or can be purchased with DART's contactless payment options which include the GoPass app and GoPass Tap Card. There will be no cash fare option onboard and no ticket vending machines located at the stops. In December 2010, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) awarded a $23 million Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) grant to build the streetcar. Construction began in May 2013 and opened for service free of any fare on April 13, 2015.
