Two new members to represent Dallas on DART Board of Directors

Scott Carlson and Lynn Flint Shaw have been appointed to represent the City of Dallas on the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Board of Directors. Board members are appointed by the city councils of DART's 13 member cities.

Carlson is a manager in the American Regulatory and Industry Relations group of Nortel Networks. An attorney, he provides the Nortel Networks wireless business group with counsel and direction on federal telecommunications regulatory issues and supports government business activities. In addition, Carlson has provided legal support to Nortel Networks joint venture activities in the Dallas area. Carlson is a graduate of the Southern Methodist University School of Law and is licensed by the State Bar of Texas. He holds a bachelor of science in civil engineering from Texas Tech University.

Shaw is owner of Lynn Flint Shaw, M.C.D./C.C.C. & Associates, a Dallas-based speech and language pathology and occupational therapy practice. Her practice includes children, adolescents and adults. In addition, she consults with various child development organizations. Shaw's community involvement includes chairing the strategic advisory committee of the 2003 City of Dallas Bond Campaign. She also serves on the board of the Center for Performing Arts Foundation. Shaw holds a master's degree in communication disorders from Louisiana State University and a bachelor of science from Xavier University of Louisiana.
