Free event honors Older Americans Month
DART Hosts Health Fair for Senior Citizens
Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), the Dallas County Area Agency on Aging, and Eddie Deen's Ranch, invite all senior citizens to the 16th Annual Older Americans Information and Health Fair on Thursday, May 13 in celebration of Older Americans Month.
The free event is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Eddie Deen's Ranch, 944 South Lamar Street, Dallas (Mapsco 45-P). Attendees are encouraged to save on parking by riding DART Rail to the nearby Convention Center Station.
Senior citizens can meet special guest Greg Fields, WFAA Weather Team Meteorologist, and get free health screenings for prostate, blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes, while enjoying lunch, giveaways, drawings and information on a variety of topics.
More than 40 organizations will participate with exhibits including AARP, American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, Alzheimers Association, Arthritis Foundation, Bear Creek Family Dentistry, Cataract Institute of Texas, North Texas Poison Center, Dallas County Health and Human Services, Methodist Health System, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and UT Southwestern Medical Center.
