DART Health Fair Supports Senior Citizens
Media Relations Contact: April 23, 2009 Hundreds expected at free event DART Health Fair Supports Senior Citizens
Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), the Dallas Area Agency on Aging, and Eddie Deen's Ranch, invite all senior citizens to the 15th Annual Information and Health Fair on Wednesday, May 13 in celebration of Older Americans Month.
A few of the things awaiting senior citizens are health screenings for prostate, blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, and fall risk, as well as lunch, giveaways and fun including dancing with live musical entertainment by Baron Bacon and a special guest appearance by "Ms. Texas Senior" Dr. Syntha West. Each year, rain or shine, more than 40 organizations come together to provide giveaways, drawings and information on a variety of topics including transportation, health, fire and personal safety, and social services. Some exhibitors include AARP, American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, Alzheimers Association, City of Dallas-Senior Services, Parkland Senior Outreach, Humana, Dallas County Health and Human Services, Susan G. Komen, Methodist Health System - Prostate Screening Program, KAAM Radio 770, Wells Fargo, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, The Senior Source, Baylor University Medical Center, and UT Southwestern-Alzheimer's Education.
