DART Approves Hearing to Add D2 Project to Service Plan
The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) board agreed to a public hearing on adding the D2 Subway alignment, grade separations and station locations to the DART Service Plan.
The hearing, planned for the DART Board Meeting on Tuesday, September 22, will take public comments on a Locally Preferred Alternative (LPA) before both the Dallas City Council and the DART Board have the opportunity to formalize it into the DART Service Plan.
The LPA has been adopted and revised several times for the D2 Project by both the Dallas City Council and DART Board.
On October 11, 2016, the Dallas City Council approved resolutions requesting that that D2 be refined as a subway project between Woodall Rodgers Freeway and I-345.
They approved another resolution on September 13, 2017, which endorsed the Victory/ Commerce/ Swiss Alignment in concept with additional consideration of potential alignment modifications as the preferred alternative.
On September 26, 2017, the DART Board approved the Commerce alternative as the Locally Preferred Alternative for D2.
