DART News Release
Passengers traveling in Dallas’ Central Business District via DART may experience delays over the weekend of July 12- July 15 as necessary maintenance is performed on DART Rail’s high-voltage power source—or catenary—via a process known as “re-tensioning.” Contingency dates will be July 19-22 if repairs need more time.
This repair work is in 54-hour shifts, allowing one track to remain open between 9 p.m. on Friday, July 12, and 3 a.m. on Monday, July 15. DART will operate a CBD Rail shuttle train in both directions, serving all stations between Pearl/Arts District and West End.
While the re-tensioning is taking place, please look to board a shuttle bus at the RED Rail Disruption Shuttle Stop sign at the following stations:
- Cityplace/Uptown- connects with the northbound Red Line to Parker Road & Blue Line to Downtown Rowlett
- Deep Ellum- connects with the southbound Green Line to Buckner
- Pearl/Arts District- connects with the DART CBD Rail shuttle & East Transfer Center
- West End- connects with the DART CBD Rail shuttle & West Transfer Center
- EBJ/Union- connects with the southbound Red Line to Westmoreland & Blue Line to UNT Dallas
- Victory- connects with the northbound Green Line to North Carrollton/Frankford & Orange Line to DFW Airport
NOTE: Shuttles will operate from 9 p.m. until 2 a.m. on Friday, 4 a.m.-2 a.m. Saturday, Sunday & Monday with normal rail service scheduled to resume at 3 a.m. on Monday morning; closures could be postponed to contingency or alternate weekends due to weather.
This important maintenance is critical to DART’s ability to maintain a safe and dependable rail system. For more information or schedule updates, please contact our Customer Information department at 214-979-1111 or visit https://www.dart.org/.
