Public hearings to review light rail's potential impact DART invites input to Northwest Corridor environmental report Residents and business owners along DART's Northwest Corridor are invited participate in public hearings reviewing a Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the proposed 17.8-mile light-rail extension to Northwest Dallas. The environmental study outlines the potential transportation and environmental impacts of the proposed expansion. The new line will extend DART's rail service from Downtown Dallas, through the Medical Center area, continue to Farmers Branch and into Carrollton. A second section of the line will travel from Northwest Highway into Las Colinas, North Irving and DFW Airport. These hearings are part of a public review process continuing through July 30.
