July 13-15 Presented by Dallas Park and Recreation and Dallas Police Athletic League, come be a part of the 5th Annual Battle in Big D Boxing Tournament at Centennial Hall, 1001 Washington Street in Fair Park. This year the tournament hopes to have over 600 fighters and will feature 3 rings. Boxers from around the nation will compete for Ringside Championship title belts in all divisions. Scheduled daily start times are as follows: Friday, July 13, 6 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 1 and 6 p.m. and Sunday, July 15, 1 p.m. Admission for ages 11+ is $10, children 5 - 10 is $5 and children 4and under are free. July 14 Too Hot to Handle 15K, 10K, & 5K is at Norbuck Park, 200 N. Buckner Road at 7:30 a.m. Join in for extreme fun in the summer sun. With three different distances: a flat 10K or 15K and the most popular 5k, there are choices for everyone. The Sponsor Village in Norbuck Park will be packed with awesome sponsors, snacks, live music, and a beer garden. Don't miss this great summer racing experience! Information:

Aug. 11 The Hot Trot Half Marathon, 10K and 5K starts at the Continental Bridge Gateway Plaza in Dallas and features a mostly flat course along the Trinity Skyline Trail. All proceeds from the Hot Trot benefit the Assist the Officer Foundation. All three courses are USATF certified and feature beautiful views of the iconic Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge and the Dallas skyline. The 5K run/walk features a scenic loop from Ronald Kirk Bridge to the Trinity Skyline Trails. The 10K and Half Marathon course takes runners over two scenic bridges and through Trammel Crow Park, to a finish steps away from an epic post-race party and restaurants at Trinity Groves. Aug. 17 Big3 is the American 3-on-3 professional basketball league created in part by rapper/actor Ice Cube. Dallas will host the first round of playoffs, bringing to the court such fan favorites as Amar'e Stoudemire, Metta World Peace, Chauncey Billups, Mike Bibby, Carlos Boozer and more, as well as legendary coaches including Allen Iverson, Julius Erving, Gary Payton and Charles Oakley.
