Mark your calendar: senior health fair set for May 14
Senior citizens have the chance to check their health and tap their toes when DART, the Dallas Area Agency on Aging and Eddie Deen's Ranch host the 14th Annual Older Americans Information and Health Fair on Wednesday, May 14.
The fun, free fair begins at 9 a.m. at Eddie Deen's Ranch in Downtown Dallas. Attendees are encouraged to save on parking by riding the DART Rail Red or Blue Line to Convention Center Station.
Each year, dozens of local organizations come together to provide seniors with information on a variety of topics including transportation, health, finance and safety. This year, organizations such as the Methodist Health System, Doctors Hospital, UT Southwestern and Parkland Senior Outreach Services will be on hand providing free health screenings including blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose and prostate screenings for men. There will also be refreshments, giveaways and plenty of fun and entertainment featuring music by Baron Bacon and a special appearance by the reigning Ms. Texas Senior America, Mary Edward Zumwalt.
For more information about the event contact Jessica Lennon at 214-749-2582. For information on riding DART visit www.DART.org or call 214-979-1111.
