The decision of where to put a bus stop rests with the North Texas municipality, not DART. However, we work closely with each municipality and provide recommendations for safe and convenient bus stop locations along established routes. The governing body may accept or reject these suggestions.
Yes, DART installs and maintains bus stop signs and poles. If you think a sign is missing, we will check our records to see if your local government has designated the location as an official bus stop. We will replace it if the location is marked as an official stop. This will alert operators that this location is an official stop so they can pick up and drop passengers there.
The DART Police Department offers a sign-on bonus of $5,000 for new DART Police Officers and $2,000 for new DART Fare Enforcement Officers.

Please contact us if you know the date, location, bus route number, and scheduled arrival time. We will look into the incident, check out what happened, and let you know what we turn up.
DART will arrange for and bear the cost of providing bus shelters at the bus stops if a local sponsor, public or private, agrees to maintain the shelter and liability for the installation.
