Media Contact: April 12, 1999 DART.org website adds new service for reporters DART builds newsroom in cyberspace Dallas Area Rapid Transit has inaugurated a new online club car for reporters with the creation of the DART Newsroom on its website at www.DART.org.This section of DART's website contains news releases, historical agency information, executive staff biographies, DART performance highlights such as the Annual Report, and online versions of DART publications. The newsroom also offers an extensive list of links to DART member city websites, chambers of commerce, area government officials, news media outlets and a number of online reference tools for reporters. "We hope this will be a site reporters will check out even if they aren't working on a DART story," said Morgan Lyons, DART senior media relations officer. "For an example, you can look up a word in the online dictionary or confirm some local railroad history in The Handbook of Texas." The newsroom is easy to access. It is available from the front page of www.DART.org. Launched in late 1997, the DART website is growing as a new source for public transit information ranging from route maps and schedules to the agency's rail, bus and high occupancy vehicle lane expansion activities. -- 30 -- |
