Thanks to DART Rail, the Trinity Railway Express and great destination deals values, they can do just that.

Dallas Zoo Station

DART's Dallas Zoo Station is just steps away from its namesake destination. The zoo, which features award-winning natural habitats and critters from fat and furry to small and scaly, has animal attractions for all ages. Try visiting on Mondays and Tuesdays and enjoy special destination deals savings.

In Downtown Dallas and the West End Station, there's something nearby for the whole family. Start with the West End Marketplace, where a bevy of sundry establishments aims to delight. It's virtually at the West End Station. Right around the corner you'll find the Dallas World Aquarium, where exotic sea life swim and dance in more than 85,000 gallons of saltwater - with a glass tunnel through it all to provide a panoramic view of reef life.

A DART Rail ride up the Red Line to Downtown Plano Station delivers you to the front door of the Interurban Railway Museum at Haggard Park. The Interurban linked Plano with much of North Texas until 1948. While the grownups shop the 15th street district, the kids can skate the day away at Eisenbergs Skatepark. Both the museum and skate facility offer destination deals.

Git along, little doggies
The Trinity Railway Express (TRE) commuter train not only connects the downtowns of Dallas and Fort Worth, it connects travelers with the more Western, laid-back atmosphere of historic Cowtown. Here, family offerings abound. Not far from the ITC Station, stroll the Sundance Square district, where

family-oriented restaurants are sprinkled liberally among more grown-up bistros and pubs, or take the Fort Worth T's Routes 2 or 7 directly from the ITC to the Cultural District. Here, the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is geared toward engaging its younger visitors - and includes the spectacular Omni Theater, a technical marvel that dazzles the senses with an 80-foot domed screen, enveloping the viewer in sight and sound.

To enjoy an even bigger serving of the Old West, visit the Fort Worth Stockyards, a registered historical district that is one of Texas' biggest tourist attractions. Just a short bus ride on T Route 1 from the ITC, you where you can soak up the atmosphere, check out the livery stables or catch the rodeo at the Cowtown Coliseum.
