DART to the State Fair with These Pro Tips!
DART is the best way to get to the State Fair of Texas®. It's convenient and easy: Just buy your fair tickets and transit passes on the GoPass® app, get on the Green Line and ride the train to Fair Park Station. For an even better travel experience, follow these tips. You'll look like an old pro!

Use MLK, Jr. Station, too. Most DART riders are familiar with Fair Park Station. But MLK, Jr. Station also serves Fair Park at Gate 6, near the Cotton Bowl stadium. From Downtown Dallas, take the Green Line with signs that read BUCKNER, LAWNVIEW or FAIR PARK.

Use the whole train when boarding. It's natural to get on at the closest door - that's why some sections are often more crowded. Stretch out a little! Look for the doors without a line. And don't forget, the center section of each vehicle has low floors that are level with the platform, so you can roll strollers and mobility devices right on board.

Plan your trip with mobile tools. Riding DART to the State Fair is easier when you use our mobile travel tools:
  • GoPass app has the full complement of travel tools.
  • Twitter offers real-time information. Check us out at @DARTmedia and @DARTalerts.
  • m.DART.org - DART's mobile site - has a trip planner, bus and train locators, rider alerts and point-to-point schedules.
  • Customer Service is available seven days a week at 214-979-1111.
Fair Tip!
Arrive early or stay late. With cooler weather, you can get the most out of the State Fair.

Know the fares.
  • Adult Local Day Pass costs $5 and applies to riders ages 15-64.
  • Reduced Day Pass costs $2.50 and covers seniors age 65 or older (with a valid DART photo ID), people with disabilities, and children ages 5-14.
  • High school students with a valid DART or student ID qualify for the reduced fare on weekdays only.
  • Children under age 5 ride for free.
Find more fare information at DART.org/fares.

Fair Tip!
Winning toys is thrilling. Carrying them around? Not so thrilling. If you play to win toys near the end of your visit, you'll probably have a better time overall.

Ride DART and park free at the station. Save time and gas; skip the hassle and expense of parking around Fair Park. Free parking is available at many DART transit centers and rail stations with Park & Ride lots. Find locations at DART.org/parking.

Check the DART schedule - it's different. During the fair, DART offers more frequent and extended service, as well as special service for the Oct. 7 Grambling State-Prairie View A&M State Fair Classic and the Oct. 14 Texas-Oklahoma Red River Showdown. Visit DART.org/statefair to view special DART Rail schedules.

Fair Tip!
Everyone wants to grab a corny dog first. That's why lines are always longest at stands near the front gate and Big Tex. Hit one of the many other Fletcher's stands throughout the fair. You'll probably wind up with a mustard mustache faster!
