Irving Music Factory Opens
Imagine taking DART to a state-of-the-art concert hall surrounded by great restaurants, a bowling alley and even an Alamo Drafthouse movie theater. It soon will be a reality at Irving's spectacular Music Factory. The development's signature piece - the performance venue called The Pavilion - opens Aug. 31 with Dave Chappelle taking the stage for two nights.

Chappelle will be followed by an eclectic list of performers including Brad Paisley (Sept. 2); Jeff & Larry's Backyard BBQ comedy and music festival with Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy, Eddie Money and the Marshall Tucker Band (Sept. 3); the Goo Goo Dolls and Phillip Phillips (Sept. 6); Sin Bandera (Sept. 23); Young the Giant, Cold War Kids and Joywave (Sept. 29); Matchbox Twenty and Counting Crows (Oct. 1); Scorpions and Megadeth (Oct. 12); and Trevor Noah (Nov. 11).

It's a short walk from Irving Convention Center Station.

With the flip of a switch, this exceptional venue's huge rear doors lift, revealing an expansive grassy area for seating. The structure morphs from a 4,000-seat concert hall to an 8,000-seat amphitheater.

And the flexibility doesn't stop there. It can evolve into a general admission venue with more than 2,400 standing fans in the front bowl and additional fixed seats to help attract bands that play to a younger crowd.

For artists and fans who want a more intimate setting, a curtain system turns the structure into a 2,500-seat theater.

This unique design will allow the venue to book well-known bands, up-and-coming artists, comedians - name a concert experience, and The Pavilion can deliver it. Concertgoers, meanwhile, will be able to make an evening of it - taking DART Rail to the venue and choosing from more than 25 great restaurants, including Bar Louie, Gloria's, Grimaldi's, Kabuki Japanese Restaurant, Sambuca and the Yard House.

You can stroll to an incredible concert, DART home afterward or even stay at the Westin Irving Convention Center Hotel, which is scheduled to open in late 2018.
