Celebrate the birth of our nation at any of several larger-than-life fireworks displays and Independence Day events throughout the DART Service Area. DART will get your family to and from the festivities in air-conditioned comfort. Here's a sampling of the summer's biggest parties.
Note: DART buses and light rail will operate on a Sunday schedule on Monday, July 4, 2016. There will be no TRE service on July 4.|
The Singapore Slingers Celebrate America return to the Kessler Theater for a patriotic show unlike any other - the orchestra will be performing everything from Sousa marches to some of the most treasured gems from America's rich musical past. Jazz, ragtime, marches, and a whole lot more - enjoy this star-spangled dance and concert! Tickets are $20-28 + fees. The bar opens at 6:30 p.m.; theater doors at 7:30 p.m.; show starts at 8:30 p.m. The Kessler Theater is located at 230 W. Davis St. Information: thekessler.org.

Addison Kaboom Town Addison's most explosive party of the year, Kaboom Town!, features dazzling fireworks choreographed to music, plus food, live music, spectacular Cavanaugh Flight Museum's historic warbird flyovers and more. Rated one of the top 10 fireworks shows in the country by USA Today, Kaboom Town! promises spectacular views from just about anywhere in Addison. Events run 4 p.m. to midnight at Addison Circle Park, 4970 Addison Circle Drive. Information: addisontexas.net.

Farmers Branch Independence Day Celebration. Farmers Branch always provides one of the very few, low-level firework shows in Texas! A spectacular show was accompanied by a high energy dance band on stage, a FREE KidZone area, concessionaire's selling festival favorites and more! You don't want to miss this yearly tradition of Patriotism, Family, and Fun at the Farmers Branch Historical Park, 2540 Farmers Branch Lane. Park gates open at 6:30 p.m. Information: farmersbranchtx.gov.
Plano Community Band presents its Star-Spangled Spectacular, which is the is the highlight of the group's free Summer Concerts in the Park. Pack your blankets and chairs and a picnic supper, and bring the kids for an evening of patriotic music and an armed forces salute from this all-volunteer band. This year, "Patriotic Pops" also features the Custer Road United Methodist Church Choir. The show begins at 7 p.m. in Haggard Park, 901 E. 15th St. in downtown Plano. Information: planoband.com.
Mrs. Baird's Presents City of Dallas and KLUV's Red White & Boom On The Bridge from 5 to 10 p.m. The beautiful Downtown Dallas skyline will light up with a fantastic fireworks show to celebrate America's Independence Day. The westbound Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge will also be closed and open to pedestrians. Free and open to the public, activies include the fireworks show, music, local performers, food, vendors, kids activities and more. Note: no coolers allowed. Information: kluv.cbslocal.com.
Irving Independence Day Parade starts at 9 a.m. in the Heritage District and features entries by community organizations, businesses and families, including floats, costumes and custom vehicles. Immediately following the parade, head to Heritage Park to enjoy complimentary watermelon with your neighbors! Relax under a tree while listening to live music. Free children's activities include air brush tattoos and balloons. The reception runs until noon. Information: cityofirving.org.

Rowlett Fireworks on Main. Come out and celebrate the 4th of July right with friends, family, and community. Experience a fun filled night for the whole family that will feature live music from opening act Mars Hill Band and the headlining performer Exile. Children's activities, games, food from a variety of vendors that will be sure to satisfy any taste bud, and, of course, fireworks! This year's fireworks show will be extra special and is something you definitely want to be in attendance to witness. Events start at 6:00 p.m. with the live performance by Mars Hill Band at 6:00 p.m. and Exile performing 90 minutes of their greatest hits 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The fireworks display follows Exile's performance. - Parking will be available at Downtown Rowlett Station, Rowlett High School and Herfurth Park. Shuttle transportation will be available at Downtown Rowlett Station as well as Coyle Middle School and Herfurth Park. These shuttles will run from 5:00 p.m. to midnight and will drop attendees off at Rowlett High School.
Star-Spangled Spectacular at Firewheel Town Center is a family fun day of activities on the Fourth of July. Families will enjoy face painters, balloon artists, bounce houses, strolling entertainment and more during Star Spangled Spectacular. The event will culminate with a patriotic fireworks display sponsored by the City of Garland at 9:15 p.m. Information: visitgarlandtx.com.
Fair Park Fourth. A celebration where you and your family can enjoy all that Fair Park has to offer, including the Midway, an Esplanade Fountain show, music, a spectacular fireworks display and much more. Information: fairpark.org.
Irving Independence Day Fireworks Show will feature plenty of food concession stands and vendors. Festivities begin at 6 p.m., with fireworks after dark. It all happens around Lake Carolyn, next to the Las Colinas Urban Center Station. Information: cityofirving.org.
Piccolos & Patriots: A Star-Spangled Spectacular! with the Dallas Wind Symphony. Patriotic feelings will be stirred. History will be made. Join the Dallas Winds as they set a World Record for the most number of piccolo players performing John Philip Sousa's The Stars and Stripes Forever. The show begins at 1 p.m. at the Meyerson Symphony Center, 2301 Flora St. Information: www.dws.org.
Enjoy Patriotic Pops with the Plano Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra, led by Maestro Hector Guzman, will present an entertaining and inspiring tribute to America at the Eisemann Center at 3:00 p.m. Patriotic selections will include: God Bless America, Tribute to American Cinema, America the Beautiful, Favorite Sousa Marches, Salute to the Armed Forces, Big Band Bash as well as honor our country and the people dedicated to preserving our freedom. Joining the Plano Symphony will be the Patriotic Pops Chorus, composed of experienced choral singers from the Plano Civic Chorus and other choral groups throughout the North Texas area.
