New Ticket Machines!

DART has installed new ticket vending machines (TVMs) throughout the system. The touchscreen TVMs offer added features and a smoother experience.

In addition to purchasing paper DART passes like before, the new TVMs will allow you to:

Buy and reload GoPass® Tap cards.
Reload your GoPass® app with cash.
Check your GoPass account balance.
See your progress on daily and monthly fare capping.
View the transaction history of your GoPass® account.
Pay with cash, credit and debit cards, or mobile wallets such as Apple Pay, Google Wallet, and Samsung Wallet.

TVM Vouchers

If a Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) cannot provide change, it will issue a voucher for the remaining balance — the difference between the amount inserted and the cost of the pass you attempted to purchase.

In some cases, if a machine error prevents you from completing a transaction or receiving a refund, the TVM will issue a voucher for the amount lost.

You can redeem vouchers at any TVM by scanning the QR code. The value can be applied toward the purchase of a DART pass or added to a GoPass Tap card.

How to use a DART TVM

DART has TVMs on all rail platforms and at the Northwest Plano Park & Ride. Using a TVM is easy. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

Select the correct fare. For a complete list of available DART fares and to see which one works best for your trip, please click the button below.
You can buy up to 5 passes per transaction.
Paying with cash? TVMs accept coins and $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills. The machines do not accept pennies. Try to use the smallest bill possible.

Your pass is activate upon purchase. Please tap a card reader before boarding.
Keep your pass handy in case fare enforcement asks to see your tickets or passes.
If you purchase a Reduced Fare, you will also need to show your DART-issued Reduced Fare ID. Seniors over 65 may use their Medicare card as their ID. High school students may use a valid DART Service Area high school ID.
